PASSION AND PURITY CHILDREN'S CHAPTER.
“Passion and Purity” is a non-profit initiative currently geared towards our youths and children. Passion and Purity children’s chapter is aimed at helping children to appreciate their childhood innocence and purity and be passionate about the right things. It seeks to help them to know that they can be all that God wants them to be. This will include conferences, empowerment seminars, rallies, workshops, and radio and television talk shows, concerts along with many other activities in the context of the church, school and media. This is in keeping with our mandate to help students to find their “Passion and embrace Purity” through the Christian values we communicate. The movement seeks to highlight the following themes for children.
I AM A PROMISE, I AM A POSSIBILITY.
• God made me special – and I can be anything He wants me to be.
• My talents and abilities are UNIQUE gifts from God .
• I can find my talents that will help me to maximize my potential.
• I recognize that I must be a good and positive student, and a role model .
• My body is God’s property .
• I must embrace purity ofthoughts, motives and action to help me to fulfill my purpose. .
• I can make a positive difference .
History
Andrew and Donnette Norman are the Founders and Presidents of Passion and Purity. They are eternally grateful to God for the life and work of Jim and Elizabeth Elliot whose life experiences and work have inspired this Passion and Purity movement. Much credit is to be given to the following persons: Howard and Olecia Wedderburn–Christie, our first co- presidents of the youth chapter, Mrs. Colleen Montague Principal of our host school Wolmer’s Girls School, our host church Bible Teachers International, Interschool Christian Fellowship, the Jamaica Youth For Christ, other partners/ endorsers, our advisors and sponsors and a very hardworking and dedicated committee. They are to be highly commended for the tremendous work done in the launching of Passion and Purity in Kingston Jamaica.
The movement was officially launched in Jamaica during the school year 2008- 2009 with our girls, boys, coed and children’s conferences at Wolmer’s Girls’ school, Jamaica College, Manchester High School and Wolmer’s Preparatory school. Our records show that over 3000 students from over 215 schools all across Jamaica attended these Passion and Purity Conference. Throughout the year, we also had several life changing church conferences and seminars and were priviledged to launch our Television programme on MTM T.V. There were many positive reports and for this we say "to God be all the glory!"
This chapter was officially launched at Wolmers Preparatory on Monday June 1, 2009. Among the highlights of the day was the theme “I Am a Promise ” presented in dance,drama, song, sign language by the students of Wolmer’s Preparatory and other visiting schools.
